Adam Matthews has signed a contract with Cypriot side AC Omonia, thereby ending his tradition of spending pre-season at Sparrows Lane whilst awaiting a non-existent contract from elsewhere. The 30 year old has been brought in by his former Celtic manager Neil Lennon on a two year deal, the longest he has signed since his Sunderland days.
It’s easy to forget how good he was in the Championship, especially in that 10/15 game run in late 2019. However, apart from the occasional good game, he never regained that form after relegation. Lets hope Mandela Egbo can make a bigger impact.
